Der Manntisch
What is the Manntisch? Many have long toiled and searched for the answer to that very question. For some, it is a mysterious, awe-inspiring, radical group of really manly men. For others, it's kinda silly - and not even a real German word (whats up with that?!)
Herr Dexter, one of the founders and gods of the Manntisch, puts it best: der Manntisch is nothing more than "the chivalrous table of manliness that occupies German class is a constant reminder to nerds and inferior men everywhere of what true 'übermenschen' really look like." Well put, indeed. And for those who say Manntisch isn't even a word: says who? It's a word now.

More importantly, it's a group that has achieved critical aclaim in the area of German filmography. In 2007, they debuted with an instand hit, "Chronicles of (der) Manntisch," an epic story about the shady German spy underworld, complete with helicopters, beer, submarines, Chuck Norris, and a hot nurse. Recognized as a masterpiece in it's own time, "Chronicles" led to the unique problem of "throngs of swooning teenage girls and thousands of fans" for the übermenschen.
The very next year, the Manntisch followed with piece that got back to their German roots, showing the world that these equisite displays of awesome manliness hadn't let fame get to their heads. "Der Erlkönig" was met with just as much aclaim as its predecessor. The stunning rendition of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's famous Erlkönig was deemed by critics as "stunning," "first rate," and "the year's best rendition of a dead 18th century German poet's work."
Many have searched long and hard to discover the true identities of these brilliant yet lovable übermenschen, if just to have some of their manliness rub off. We won't spoil the hunt for you, except to drop a little hint. Their first names are Dexter, Nik, Sam, and Ben. They should be easy to find.
